Description:
Leaving a high-flying job in consulting, Angela Lee Duckworth took a job teaching math to seventh graders in a New York public school. She quickly realized that IQ wasn’t the only thing separating the successful students from those who struggled. Here, she explains her theory of “grit” as a predictor of success.
My Comments:
According to Angela Lee Duckworth, Grit is passion and perseverance toward for very long term goals. One key is developing a “growth mindset”, which is the belief that we all have the ability to learn new things, and grow and change through our entire life. We must continue to explore our passions, and develop the discipline, flexibility, and perseverance to “fail forward”, and try again.
